Hi All,

I am configuring snmp v3 user in ISE 3.3 patch 3 using below command and getting below message while configuring pass and priv pass. In ISE 3.3 cli reference guide it says that minimum length for password is one character but in cli it saying something else. Pls suggest way out to configure this.

snmp-server user <user> v3 plain <pass> <priv passwd>

@M Talha

 Did you try with 9 charactere long password?

No I didn't tried that reason being all other devices in network are using same key length pass and priv pass. I can't change that. I don't understand the reason why the documentation contradicts the actual cli.

@M Talha

I see you. But, clearly something has change on the code. And let´s be honest. 1 character for password in a Security platform would be a joke. I am not saying you want one character only but the documentation might be written wrongly to say the least.

 I believe they did right now change this to a stronger password

auth-password

Specifies the authentication user password. The minimum length for a password is one character; however, we recommend that you use at least nine characters for security .

To create a password with the hash symbol (#) or exclamation mark (!), you must first enter the backslash symbol (\), for example, abc\!23, abc12\#, and so on.

Yes something has been changed but not updated on cli reference guide.
