Hello
Need some help, I have hardware cisco ISE 3315, want to go for high availability now, my question is that;
1. Is Cisco ISE available on Hyper V ?
2. Is it possible to configure 1 hardware , and other virtual (VMware / HyperV {If available}) in high availability mode ?
Thank you very much.

Unfortunately, ISE is not available or supported by Cisco in HyperV.
Yes, you can mix appliance and virtual installations for HA and throughout the deployment.

There is no HyperV version available. But you can combine HW- and virtual appliances in the same deployment without any problems.
The supported hardware- and virtual platforms are shown in the release-notes.

While ISE may run in Hyper-V, it will definitely not be supported so I recommend staying away from doing that. The only supported virtual environment is VMware. If you only have Hyper-V then you will have to get another appliance. Do keep in mind that the 3315s are EOL/EOS. The replacement models for those are the 3415.
As it was already stated above Charles and Karsten, you can mix virtual and physical appliances. So if you do en up going with a supported virtual solution make sure that the resources for the ISE nodes are dedicated/reserved and that thin provisioning is also NOT supported.
Hope this helps!

Thank you Charles, Karsten, Neno
Dont have VMware here, going on HyperV is not a good idea, so not thinking for mixed environment HA mode (If possible please share document link referring mixed environment HA mode, for study)
a new hardware for HA seems best option, have question here
Will both 33x5 and 34x5 work smoothly with each other ?
Thanks

Yes, you can mix the different appliances as you want or need. Just be aware that the new platform is more powerful and you perhaps want to keep this in mind when deciding how many NAD point to the first and how many NADs point to the second ISE.

can anyone help by sharing or mentioning cisco document for high availability compatibility between 33x5 and 34x5 devices.
And moreover if the current BYOD licenses will work with new device in HA mode or new licenses will be needed to purchase
Please clarify
Thanks
