Cisco ISE Upgrade - Red Hat Guest Operating System Cutover

Brett Verney

Hi all,

I am upgrading a Cisco ISE virtual cluster from 2.3 to 2.7, and need to change the Guest Operating System from 7.0 to 7.6 in VMware.

When is the best time to make this change?

Should I wait until the upgrade is complete, and then power down the nodes before making the OS change?

Regards,

Brett

If you are doing an inline upgrade, it works either way. I prefer to do it post-upgrade of the application.

If you are deploying new VMs and restoring backup onto them then of course you would set the parameters during VM creation.

Thanks Marvin!

I like the sound of doing it post-upgrade. That way I remove the risk of breaking something on the existing, working system.
