I have a 6509 switch running 6.3(5) and I have tried to set up command authorization to only allow certain users to see the configurations. I've set it up in a IOS based 6509 with success but so far unsuccesful with the cat os based 6509. It seems it's all or nothing as far as enable, config, and exec authorization. Ideally, I would like to give them exec authorization and only show permit configuration but that doesn't seem to be working. I didn't even need to give exec privliges for the ios based switch.
Any hints?
