ACS is AAA server. It provides Authentication, Authorization and Accounting services.
For a Wi-Fi network, the ACS can be integrated so that it allows only specific useres to connect to the Wi-Fi network.
Allowed users can be stored locally on ACS and/or you can integrate ACS with an existing MS Active Directory domain where domain users can be only allowed to the Wi-Fi network.
ACS will log the user information (username, auth time, auth method...etc) for you. If accounting is enabled it will also log some more information like how long the session took and how many data packets were communicated during the user's session.
