Hello ISE team,
My customer would like to know why the Hostname column from the Context Visibility dashboard shows only the information provided by NMAP, I.e. even if endpoint has FQDN provided by DNS probe and it can be seen under the host's collected attributes, the hostname column at the Context Visibility will be empty, if it's not provided by NMAP.
Screenshot from ISE 2.3 p3 for clarity:
Thanks,
Andre

The attributes hostname and FQDN are two distinct fields. At present, FQDN is not used to back fill the hostname.
Besides NMAP, the hostname is often provided by DHCP probe.

Can we show FQDN in any of Context Visibility dashboards? AFAIK no.
If DHCP probe can also populate the hostname column, then we have misleading popup hint (can be seen on the screenshot above).
Any plans on getting FQDN information available at the Context Visibility?
Any plans on getting the hostname field back filled from FQDN?
Thank you.
