How can I create a Portal Sponsor with read only privileges?

Hi

I have a customer requirement for a read-only Sponsor Portal admin and I can sort of achieve it ... except for the fact that a Sponsor Group will only be active if you allow the group to create accounts.  I can remove all other privileges (like Edit/Delete/Reset password etc.) from the Group, but I cannot remove the ability to create accounts!!!

When I try creating a Sponsor Group without the ability to create accounts (i.e. I don't add a Guest Type) then I get this error.

If I click Yes then it disables that Sponsor Group.

And yes, I have specified a Guest Location.

My nasty workaround so far has been to create a nonsense Guest Type with a 1min expiry, and where endpoints end up in Blacklist Endpoint etc -  you get the picture - the Read Only Sponsor person can create these accounts but the account itself is unusable.

Is there a better way?

This is the first time this has come up

The only thing I can think of would be to use the API and create your own portal that simply lists the accounts
