Integrating Cisco Switches (vBlock) with Active Directory

Hi,

We are planning to use Active Directory Authentication when logging onto Cisco Switches (part of vBlock) to achieve SSO. Can you provide some of the below information:

1.Is Windows Server 2012 Active Directory Supported for such an integration?

2.Is there a step-by-step guide on how to achieve this?

3.Does this need any agents to be installed on Active Directory Domain Controllers?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks & Regards

Hi,

Do you have the model and version of code of the switches you plan on using. for example here is a configuration guide on how to integrate a 3750x series switch with AD using kerberos.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst3750x_3560x/software/release/15.0_2_se/configuration/guide/swauthen.html#wp1268774

If authentication is your only business requirement this should be good to go. However if you are looking for features such as command authorization and reporting, you may want to consider tacacs and ACS 5.x.

thanks,
