INternet explorer Guest Authentication trough ISE server

Hello All

Im facing an issue with my Guest portal

I have a 8540 wlc with version 8.3.133 where I have configured the guest SSID directed to authenticate in ISE server

the problem is , the guest just can use Internet explorer to be redirected to the web internface to put user and password, is they use anyother web borwser is not redirecting anywhere

any ideas?

Does the Windows PC with IE installed automatically re-direct when the user connects to the wifi?

Could it be that the IE browser has no web proxy configured, whereas the other browsers have? Or, are you using WPAD in your network to auto-configure the proxy settings on browsers, and this is somehow interfering with the portal redirection?

What version of ISE? If it's an ancient version of ISE then perhaps it's using TLS 1.0 and the newer browser have TLS 1.0 disabled - then IE might still work because it's so old and still had TLS 1.0 enabled.

Most new browsers open up in HTTPS that can not be redirected. This is getting to be an issue for any auth page redirect. We use to have users pull up our website for the redirect, but with the change to browsers, they have to try to open the ise link directly, or type out http:// for the redirect to work.
