ISE 2.3 VM requirements

Hi,

Will 32 GB is sufficient for 10K users for ISE 2.3 VM (dedicated PAN, MnT and PSN+PxGrid)?

Customer wants to start with 10K users deployment and then for 25K users. So finally it will be large deployment. 64 GB is required for large deployment. But Customer currently has memory resource restriction and hence wants to go with 32 GB memory and then 64 GB.

Hence just want to confirm 32GB memory is sufficient for 10K users.

Regards,

D.M.Gore

With an allocation of 16GB (along with the CPU Requirements) allowing for servicing up to 7500 concurrent endpoints, I think you'd be safe with an allocation of 32GB for up to 10,000.

The CPU requirements should be looked at as a minimum as well.

The table from the Cisco Identity Services Engine Installation Guide, Release 2.3 shows a minimum of 2 cores at 2.0GHz

I would recommend matching the CPU sizing of the SNS-3515 Appliance which is a 6 core @ 2.3GHz.  Essentially, if you con give the VM 13.8 total GHz AS A MINIMUM and 32GB RAM, you should have no problem with 10,000 concurrent endpoints.  Though, this particular scenario isn't tested, so YMMV.
