ISE bulk import question

Olaf Sandberg

Hey!
I am planning to add multiple entries to my ISE (Tacacs) configuration, using generated template.

Work Center --> Network Devices --> Import (using generated template).

Will ISE replace exiting objects with ones in the template file, or add ones from template to existing ones?

Thanks!

It depends if you choose the Overwrite existing data with new data option or not.

If you enable it, it will overwrite/replace the existing network device definitions.

Otherwise, it will not.

You may also watch me do an import in our ISE Webinar

If you are still concerned, try it in your lab with a test/demo instance of ISE on a VM. You get a 90-day free evaluation of ISE with every new installation so this is a perfect option for testing things in your lab for free.

Bulk import replaces with updated information, if you like to retain then add thhem to Bulk import.

Most use case we use Bulk import migrate from old to new or new installation.
