ISE Guest Wi-Fi portal and Unifi controller

Hello all,

I'm looking for some help to make my Unifi guest clients to access the Guest portal configured on Cisco ISE.

I have seen some configurations using Cisco WLC dashboard, but Unifi doesn't have so much options. I can only specify the (ISE) guest portal URL.

Any clue or directives to how to go about the configurations ? For now:

  • the guest portal setup is ready on Cisco ISE (I might troubleshoot it later on)
  • an open SSID is created on Unifi controller and mapped with a vlan id,
  • I can only define the ISE's IP address (redirection is enable on ISE, but it is not triggered after connexion to the SSID).

Thank you kindly.

First thing to check is if the Unifi is capable of redirecting the client to the ISE. And does the Unifi AP/Controller allow this redirection to be triggered by a RADIUS server? I really would assume that this is a problem that is better addressed in a Ubiquity community.

Thank you.
I have also posted over there.

However, I can say Unifi is capable to do so, since I was using another external portal solution and it worked just fine. Just that it was not a radius server, and that might be a point as you stated.

ISE requires a RADIUS flow for web direction unless you are using the local DHCP/DNS feature.  Some external captive portals rely just on HTTP status codes for handling login, etc.

I get it... mmm

Hello,

Were you able to find a solution to implement a Guest Portal with Unifi Access Point / Controller?

If not, what was your workaround to authenticate Guest User with Unifi and ISE?

Thanks
