Hello all,

I installed 2 ISE servers, one which is Primary and the other Secondary. From SMTP I got following message:

Alarm Name :

Process Down

Details :

ISE RabbitMQ Container not running : Server=ISE-01

Description :

One of the ISE Process is not Running

Severity :

Critical

Suggested Actions :

Restart the ISE Application

*** This message is generated by Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) ***

Sent By Host : ISE-02

When checking the application status I see that ISE RabbitMQ Container is not running:

I haven't notice any misbehavior yet, but what causes this to not run and what is the impact ? Can someone please advice.. I would really appreciate this.

RabbitMQ itself is open-source and it is a message-queueing software or message broker. It is a queue manager which applications can connect to its queue and transfer a message to it. It was added in ISE 2.4 as part of change in the logging behavior.
RabbitMQ Container service is dependent on parent process "Docker". If it have any issue, RabbitMQ Container will stop running.
Refer: https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCvp82280
Reloading should fix this issue on ISE 2.4.

Make sure you have the correct resources assigned if it is a VM and then reload the node, see if the problem resolves itself. If it persists then you could either reinstall or work with TAC.

Hi there,

wondering if you could advise.

I am seeing a similar issue to the one described above.

I have a distributed deployment of ISE with a physical box for each persona, no VM's involved. I have noticed the following alarm

ISE RabbitMQ Container not running : Server= PSN01.

This is alarm is also appearing for a second of our deployed PSNs.

Doesn't appear to be having any impact as of yet, but I am wondering  what the alarm represents and is it problematic?

Thanks

In addition to what @poongarg said, this service has no role to play in 2.4. It's only relevant for 2.6 or above versions. In other words, this alarm has no impact in 2.4.

Hope that helps!
