ISE RADIUS dead detection

Can anyone please tell me the differences between the following two options of commands?

Do they do the same thing or no? (try three times before giving up & mark server dead)

1.

radius server RADIUS1

 retransmit 3

2.

radius-server dead-criteria tries 3

The commands only have a slight difference.

Retransmit is enabled per radius server.

Dead-criteria is enabled globally on the switch.

With the retransmit command you can specify different retry values before a server is marked dead for multiple servers.
