ISE - Support for Special Characters in External Identity Group (AD)

Hi Guys,

I seem to have encountered a bug on 2.4 Patch 9.

I'm trying to add a AD group to an Administrator Group to use in my RBAC policy. However I keep getting this error message when saving.

"You have entered text that appears to contain unsupported tags or markup language. Remove those characters and try again."

I did a search and there appears to have been bugs for this but they were on ISE 2.1 etc.

Name of my groups are as below:

"AAA_BBB_CCC_GROUP"

".AAA_GROUP"

I have previous groups with similar naming conventions, though they would have been added a few years ago (older versions).

Hi

I suggest you call TAC to see what's going on.
You said you already have groups configured with special characters?
Do you remember which version you were using!
Normally it should work because point isn't considered as special characters if we look at the ise documentation.
Unfortunately, until now, never got a client with any special characters (except dashes and underscores)

Thanks
Francesco
