Looking at a potential Proof-of-Concept scenario in which a virtual ISE appliance would be deployed. Should the customer choose to move forward they likely will want physical appliances. It would nice if we could backup/restore from the virtual appliance to the physical one. Is this possible/supported?

No problem with this scenario, it's supported to change the hardware type during restores and I've done it more times than I can count restoring production to lab builds, or for upgrades.

Hello Miller,
can you please help with the steps should follow while restoring the backup from Virtual to a Physical HA cluster.

please take a look at: ISE Administration Guide 2.7, search for Guidelines for Data Restoration.
Note: remember that: "...Cisco ISE, Release 2.7 supports restore from backups obtained from Release 2.2 and later..."
Hope this helps !!!
