ISE VM and ISE physical appliance in distributed deployment

Hello,

Anyone tried deploying ISE 2.1 on a virtual appliance and ISE 2.1 on a physical appliance in a distributed deployment?

Wondering if we can join a node running on VMware to a physical appliance node deployment.

Cannot find any documentation around its feasibility

Many Thanks

Yes. You can have a hybrid deployment of vm and physical appliances. I have deployments with this mix and have not had any problems.

As Rahul said, it works fine and is fully supported by Cisco.

Just make sure that the CPU, memory and disk specifications of your VM meet or exceed the physical appliance's so that you don't compromise your scalability.
