Latency demands between a hosted AAA solution and remote sites

Hi!

We are about to deploy a Cisco Wireless solution on various remote sites for a customer connected to our MPLS network. There will be WLCs on some of the remote sites. At the central Hub site we will deploy ACS for managed authentication. Does any of you know the recommened maximum delay in ms for the authentication to work smoothly? The hub site will be in Singapore and the remote sites will be around the entire APAC region.

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

The WLC is the one that define the timeout. By default it is 2 seconds but you can modify, I suggest to use 10 seconds.

If the authentication packet will take more than 10 seconds to reach the ACS, will be a good idea to install an ACS locally on each site.

Hope this helps.
