License exceeded issue

Hello, 

 

I have an issue with ISE. 

I see in the license tab that base licenses are over the limit.

The active endpoints are a lot fewer

Is there sth I could do to fix this?

Why is it happening?

Do you have guest endpoints, rejected endpoints, BYOD, etc?

I have no guest endpoints.

Hi @kostasthedelegate,

 

 first of all ... Licenses are counted against Concurrent Active Sessions and a session starts with a RADIUS Accounting Start message ... to check the Current Active Sessions:

 

In Operations > Reports > Reports > Endpoints and Users > Current Active Sessions

 

ISE will maintain a session as active for 5 days unless:

1. an Interim Accounting packet is received
2. a Reauthentication of the Endpoint happens (the 5 days timer is reset)
3. a RADIUS Accounting Stop message is received (the license will be released).

 

Please, take a look at the Current Active Session ... if this number is lower than the Current Usage tab, work with TAC to solve this issue.

+5 @Marcelo Morais. Additionally, you need to schedule purging
rules as your total endpoints might create issues in DB while growing
without purge. The combination of total endpoints and active endpoints
indicate that no purge is happening.

I see that I have schedule to purge everyday, but the rules are inactive. 

I should make some rule in order to have purging, right?
