logging of usernames and ip addresses in routers

HI,

Without AAA services, using "deny any log" unde access-class, I can log failed attempts IP addresses trying to telnet to the router.

Can I also log down the username of the successful username without using a TACACS+ or RADIUS server?

Can I just use the local database to do the job?

Hi!

NO. U cant. Either u have to use TACACS+ nor Raidus to get successful username logins. Using Tacacs+ and radius u can map the local database to those servers.
