purpose of aaa accounting connection

Hi All,

 

I want to understand the purpose of following command:

hostname(config)#aaa accounting {connection} {default} {start‐stop} {group‐tacacs+} [local‐case …]

Have you checked the "Command Lookup Tool"

It is a pretty handy tool to research just about any Cisco commands out there for IOS, NX-OS and XE. Check it out and let us know if you still have questions about the "aaa accounting..." syntax

I got below information:

Connection- Keeps information about all outbound connections made from the router,
such as Telnet and rlogin

 

start-stop- Sends a start accounting notice at the beginning of a process and a stop
accounting notice at the end of a process. The user's process begins regardless.

 

local-case - Uses case-sensitive local username authentication
