Scheduled backup in ISE 2.2

Hi All,

We are running on ISE 2.2 patch 15. Currently we are not able to access the backup&restore page due to the Adobe Flash player dependency. The end date for scheduled backup was over last day and the backup stopped running. Is there some other way we can extend the scheduled backup end date with CLI or Virtual KVM access ?

Hi,

AFAIK you are only able to execute a Manual Backup on CLI and not a Schedule Backup:

ise/admin# backup <name> repository <name> ise-config encryption-key plain <key>

In other words, use Damien's suggestion as a workaround.

Hope this helps !!!

This is actually a good question.  AFAIK no.  I do know that via CLI you can kick off individual backups via the following syntax:

#backup <name> repository <repo name> <type> encryption-key <type> <password>

What about spinning up a windows 7 VM in vmware player/workstation/esxi that you can use to manage ISE. You would be able to use old versions + flash.

Hi @alinbaby

talking to a colleague, he was able to use the following browser: Maxthon 6 Cloud Browser, that still uses Adobe Flash Player, to overcome a similar issue ... it's worth a shot !!!

Hope this helps !!!

Thanks all for the response. We are managing ISE on a customer environment. So we cannot proceed with using Win 7 and they are not ready to use browsers other than Chrome, Mozilla and IE due to security concerns. Actually we are able to run manual backup from CLI. We need to confirm that the scheduled backup stopped running due to the scheduled end date already passed. Is there any way we can confirm that ?
