VMware snapshot acs 5.2

can i use a snapshot, from my acs5.2 in Vmware, as a backup solution?

That should be fine, essentally all snapshot is a cloned copy of the virtual machine. If this is in a distributed deployment you wil run into issues in the replication since there is some logic on the replication version that the units are running, however a simple fix would be to force full replication.
