I recently ordered and received Cisco Catalyst 3560-CG Series 8-port PoE switches (ws-C3560CG-8PC-S). In running the Cisco Network Assistant (Version 5.6(3)) they show up as an unsupported device. The documentation for this product indicates that you can use CNA to configure this switch. Is there a download or patch available to correct this problem?

Cisco does not generally publicly announce future product support. You may be able to ascertain CNA's future on a non-disclosure basis by contacting your account manager or reseller to inquire directly with Cisco.
Based on previous experience, CNA lags product releases by a good bit. Some things never get CNA support. It's free and more of a marketing tool to ease entry pain into small Cisco network implementations than a true enterprise management system that's expected to cover the entire scope of Cisco's switch and router offerings. LMS is the product for that.

The product data sheet and FAQ indicate it can be CNA managed but the detailed release notes for CNA don't list that particular model. The CNA release notes are pretty much the deifnitive word on what it supports. I suspect the switch data sheet is inaccurate.
The supported devices table for LMS indicates that model IS supported by LMS.
They're pretty simple small switches without a whole lot of configration work required. I'd personally just use the cli or built-in device manager to configure them. Management can be done easily with an open source (e.g. Nagios) or 3rd party entry level product (like What's Up Gold) if your network is small.
Hope this helps.

Thank you. Do you know if Cisco will support these devices in the CNA in the future?

I work for a California School DIstrict and need to use what ever cost effective tools are available. Especially those that are free. I will check with our Cisco Rep on this issue. Thank you again for confirming the situation.

The future is now!
CNA 5.7 was released on 22 December. The release notes indicate:
With Network Assistant 5.7, you can:
•Encrypt and store your device credentials locally, so that you do not have to re-enter the passwords for each device in your network. The device credentials are encrypted by using your Cisco.com credentials.
•Send periodic data updates to Cisco Systems to help improve Network Assistant and Cisco devices.
•Manage these devices:
–Catalyst 3560-C switches (WS-C3560CG-8PC-S,WS-C3560CG-8TC-S, and WS-C3560CPD-8PT-S)
–Catalyst 2960-C switches (WS-C2960CG-8TC-L, WS-C2960CPD-8PT-L, and WS-C2960CPD-8TT-L)
Merry Christmas.
