Hi all
Is it possible to check if a switch/router is properly synced to an NTP server using SNMP ?
via CLI it's easy by issuing the 'show ntp status' or 'show ntp associations', but can i somehow check this via SNMP ?
thanks !

Hi Afroz
thanks for your reply
however, if i try to get this OID i get this reply :
"iso.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.168.1.1.11 = No Such Object available on this agent at this OID"
a walk confirms that this OID doesnt exist (tried it on 2960, 3560, 4948, ASR)
do i need to enable something on the switch/router before i can access this OID ?
grtz

Hi Thijs,
It looks like the MIB is not supported on your device IOS.
Open the below link and click on "View Supported Images " to verify it.
http://tools.cisco.com/Support/SNMP/do/BrowseOID.do?objectInput=1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.168.1.1.11&translate=Translate&submitValue=SUBMIT
Hope it will help
Thanks-

try walking this OID: 1.3.6.1.2.1.197.1
Compare the output to 'sh ntp associations'
Hint: Hex-STRING: are your IPv4 and IPv6 addresses. There are websites where you can convert HEX to IP address if you don't want to figure out how. :)
