Hi
I am current running a 5506X firewall connected to my ISP.
I get a Static permanent IP from my ISP which is locked to the mac adress.
I am trying to upgrade to a C1111 instread of the 5506X and the C1111 has been set up with the same mac as the 5506 but i cant get the c1111 to communicate and get an ip or even arp when pluggin in to my fiber modem / switch.
pluggin the old 5506 in works justr fine - have tried having it all offline for over an hour still nothing - it seems the c1111 recieves packeges from the isp but does not send any thing back
The ISP cant see any errors (they can see there is a cisco device connected but not the mac adress of the connected device... )
Configuration for the working wan interface on the 5506:
:
: Hardware: ASA5506, 4096 MB RAM, CPU Atom C2000 series 1250 MHz, 1 CPU (4 cores)
:
ASA Version 9.16(4)
!
interface GigabitEthernet1/1
mac-address aXXd.6XX1.cXXc
nameif outside
security-level 0
ip address dhcp setroute
!
IPV6 is disabled on the old 5506

Cisco C1111-8P
17.16.1a
configuration for the wan interface of the C1111 which wont work... :
interface GigabitEthernet0/0/0
description outside
mac-address aXXd.6XX1.cXXc
ip address dhcp
ip nbar protocol-discovery
ip nat outside
media-type rj45
negotiation auto
ipv6 dhcp client request vendor
ipv6 nd autoconfig default-route
end
i have put XX in the mac adress for privacy reasons - but they ARE the same and correct...
Any one have any ideas to why it seems the c1111 wont even talk to my isp - no arp no nothing and no packages going from C1111 to ISP...

Hello @WoodDK
Interface Gi0/0/0 on your C1111 is up/up ?
Also, speed/duplex on that port match ?

Do you debug DHCP events/packets on your C1111 when your peform a shut/no shut as concerned interface Gi0/0/0 ?
