Cisco ASA/PIX 8.x vs 7.x SNMP Support

HI All,

I'm wondering if anyone can comment on SNMP support in Cisco PIX/ASA Operating System v8.0 and newer?

I'm managing several ASA 5500 series firewalls running 7.2, and I'm very disappointed at the lack of data I'm able to get via SNMP. I'm wondering if 8.x provides better support for Cisco's unified firewall MIB?

Specifically, I'm looking for statistics such as... number of denies / permits per ACL and/or interface, half-open connections, per-protocol statistics such as type of packets (UDP/TCP/ICMP, etc)..

  Thanks in advance,

No, the MIB support did not change much between 7.x and 8.0.  See ftp://ftp-sj.cisco.com/pub/mibs/supportlists/asa/asa-supportlist.html for a list of supported MIBs, and https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-1295 for a good explanation of the SNMP capabilities of the ASA.
