I'm relatively new with Cisco (at least in advanced / complex setups ..) and I'm trying to find a solution to a problem I face:
1. I tried to setup a C881W WCCPv2 transparent proxy solution with Squid 3.1 / 4.4 installations ... doesn't seem to have gotten anywhere (tried L2 / gre)
a. with gre, the tunel comes up, the 881W shows ip wccp summary and interfaces as expected .. all good apparently

b. I configured both web-cache and "70" (=https).
c. I have never managed to make things fully transparent (http and / or https) ... the access.log shows entries only when I manually configure the proxy in the browsers.
d. as per some reading during the last days, my setup should have never worked in the first place (https redirection would require sec/k9 and data/k9 packs activated ... and I don't think my current 881W supports any of these).
So right now I'm trying to re-define the tools that I need (if 881W won't do it ... perhaps with an older 2951? .. I am OK with buying a refurbished one .. just to care for the installed licences, right?).
And then, the story of going for squid (which I'd love because I can control traffic with squidGuard) ... or chosing a Content Engine NM-CE-80GB-K9 module for a 2951? .. if any fits a 2951 model ... I'm reasearching this currently ..).
