Hi to all,

i wonder if there is a way with CPI 3.9 to send an email when a specific condition is met , and that condition is when a switch interface with specific description goes to down state.

Is that possible?

Thanks to all !

Hello Ditter,

  1. Access Cisco Prime Infrastructure: Log in to your CPI instance and navigate to the appropriate dashboard or workspace for setting up alerts.

  2. Create a New Alert Policy:

    • Go to the Alerts and Alarms workspace.
    • Click on "Create Alert" or a similar option to create a new alert.
  3. Define the Trigger/Event:

    • Choose the event type, in this case, it would be interface status change.
    • Specify the condition as the interface going down.
    • Add a condition to filter by a specific description.
  4. Create an Action:

    • Choose "Send Email" as the action type.
    • Configure the email parameters like recipient, subject, and message.
  5. Associate the Trigger and Action:

    • Link the trigger (interface status change with specific description) to the email action you created.
  6. Save and Activate:

    • Save the alert policy and ensure it's activated to take effect.

Hi , thanks for the reply.

I do not see Alert Policy , only Alarm Policy.  Please see attached snapshot.

And when you are into this Alarm Policy wizard you can only suppress Alarm or change Alarm Severity.

There is also another menu under Administration --> System --> Alarms and Events --> Alarm Notification Policies  but it does not give me to option to add conditions to it.

Thanks again!
