Cisco Prime Infrastructure modifying device configurations

Hi, this is possibly a rookie question but keen to find out the answer.

My Cisco prime server is configured to complete a switch inventory poll at 22:00 daily. After the inventory poll, some devices state that the config was changed by the cisco prime server (When issuing the show running-config command its specified at the top of the config). Other devices don't specify that Prime modified the configuration.

What dictates whether the prime server modifies the running configuration or not? I wouldn't think it should be modifying config when running the inventory poll.

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks,

This shouldn't happen, can you compare the config with previous versions - prime should store them in the configuration archive. So you can determine the "changes".

Maybe it is also doing a "show run" and a "wr mem" afterwards, therefore the date would change on the ios.
