Cisco Prime v2.2 or higher; Detailed Hardware report; Number of interfaces count

Dear Cisco community,

this is my first post. Recently I started to work with Cisco Prime Infrastructure product (v2.2 and 3.0).

There is one thing that bothers me. I need to make report for number of interface on devices.

I found report: this is for v2.2 (Reports -> Report Launch Pad -> Device -> Detailed Hardware).

Report outputs many useful info one of them is "Number of Interfaces"

It seems at different devices it shows different numbers of interfaces additionally to ones counted from show interface status/show interface description/show ip int brief

Example:

=======================================

Real status:

3xWS-C3850-12S  stacked

show version shows 20 ports per switch:

Switch Ports Model              SW Version        SW Image              Mode
------ ----- -----              ----------        ----------            ----
*    1 20    WS-C3850-12S       03.03.05SE        cat3k_caa-universalk9 INSTALL
     2 20    WS-C3850-12S       03.03.05SE        cat3k_caa-universalk9 INSTALL
     3 20    WS-C3850-12S       03.03.05SE        cat3k_caa-universalk9 INSTALL

show interface status shows 12 ports per switch

show interface description shows 20 ports per switch (12 onboard, 4 gigabit and  4tengigabit)

show ip interface brief shows 20 ports per switch (12 onboard, 4 gigabit and  4tengigabit)

if I take data from show interface status whole stack should have 36 ports

if I take data from show interface description whole stack should have 60 ports

=============================================

Cisco Prime Infrasturcture report:

when I make above mentioned report in Cisco Prime Infrastructure for switch catalyst 3850

it shows each of the stacks in separate row and Number of Interfaces count is for each of them 72.

Even if I take that prime is counting each switch as a whole stack I cannot get to port number 72.

Question:

does anyone know where is documentation that explains calculation for this report or does anyone know how this calculation is done?

Cisco Prime is making life easier but I want to be sure I`m getting correct data otherwise I can just do everything manually :) which I don`t want.

Perhaps I`m just missing something

thanks
