What is your operating system, service pack and java plug-in version? Is this a new installation? The most common reason for the ANI connectivity issues is a proxy server configured on the browser. Control Panel >> Java Plugin 1.3.1 > Proxies
Take the check out of "Use browser settings", Clear JAR Cache, try reconnecting.
