Hi,
I can't take backup for Ciscoworks 3.2 becasue the error in dbbackup.log
Permission denied /opt/cscopx/bin/tar and error 908
anyone can help please find the attached file

check if you have complete premssion to the backup folder..
gave it # Chmod 777 premission
also check if any backup.Lock exist, if yes manually delete and re-run the job and
share the complete dbabckup.log

and also there is no backuplock file

I mean ,let say you are saving you backup under /opt/cw_backup then
cd /opt > chmod 777 cw_backup

run these commands :
chown casuser:casusers /opt/CSCOpx
chmod 777 /opt/CSCOpx
chown casuser:casusers /opt/CSCOpx/bin/tar
chmod 777 /opt/CSCOpx/bin/tar

and also ciscoworks run on solaris

Thanks for your reply but I still have this problem ,when I see the logs I find alot of directories ciscoworks can't add it
for example this directory
/scratch/lms/CW_Archive/All_Configration/difffiles/10024
and when I see this directory in system i found this line
drwxrwx--- 3 102 100 512 Jul 28 2008 PRIMARY
all of other directories which can't be added give the same result

yes ..if the premission is missing ..give it a right set of premission..
