I have 5 Cisco switches 2 - GS200-26, 2 - 3560 Poe-48 & 1 2960 Poe-48. I would like to flush the routing tables from them. Do I have to factory reset them to do this? If not, Instruction how Please?

Thanks you.

Hi

 You do not need factory reset. But, in order to help you better more information is necessary. What routing protocol do you use? Why do you think you need to flush your roting table? Have you tried turn off and on?

not sure about GS200 but with others you can do clear ip route * from CLI. Another way would be rebooting the device (make sure you have config and image files saved in flush)

Factory reset will erase configuration so I would advice against it;

Thank you for the replies. Sorry it has taken me a bit to get back. Reason behind clearing tables is, we moved to a different building in a different area. I wanted to be sure to remove any of those old routs that might remain. I was under the impression that power cycling does not clear the table. A factory reset, yes. But I'd prefer not to do that. I will try the command from the console.

Thank you.

I am not familiar with GS200-26 but certainly with the other switches clear ip route * will flush any dynamically learned entries in the routing table. And certainly a power cycle or a reload would flush any dynamically learned entries. My emphasis on dynamically learned routes is that if there are any statically configured routes they will remain in the routing table. We do not know if you have any static routes and if so would the move have any impact on them?

I agree that factory reset if over kill and not recommended.
