IP accounting SNMP

Hello

I have the follwing question:

We use SNMP the get the ip accounting records, so that they can be processed by snmp tools.

This works wuit fine.

Now the ip accounting can be retrieved via snmp using an index combined from source and destination address. This is quit good for some known tuple (source and destination).

But sometimes we know only one address, i.e. the ip address of the mailserver, whereas the other IP address of course vary.

For example we would like to know how many byte pass the router to (and from) an specified IP address.

Does somebody know a method to get accounting data specifing only one address?

Of course we could get all tuple via snmp, look for the one address and do the sum of all them.

But if would be nice, if we could do it using just one snmp get for that IP address.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Using SNMP you will not be able to collect accounting data only for one address. For more information on how to use snmp, please refer the docuemnt.
