IP Based Load Balancer V/S Cookie Based load balancer

Need couple of differences between IP based and Cookie based load balancers. Also, need the advantages and disadvantages of both. If you have any inputs let me know.

One tangential input on that. the IP based load balancer has some issues with the third party chat clients.
