IPM -- Using For monitoring delay from Shadow Router to Remote CEs

In the past we used a shadow router at our major location Hub to do IPSLA IP Echo tests to the WAN interfaces on all our remote MPLS CEs.

By using the WAN interface of the remote CEs we could monitor connectivity to backup carriers CEs without traffic being routers thru the site's primary CE.

We did this by specifing the target WAN interfaces as adhoc targets in IPM.

Since the remote site CEs are in our LMS DCR database, is there an easier way to setup tests to the remote CEs WAn interfaces without manually setting up the the WAN interfaces as adhoc targets ?

Sure, just select your shadow source router from the source list, then check all of the CE targets for which you want to create a collector.

Of course, this assumes the CEs are in DCR with their WAN interface IP address. If not, then you will need to use the ad hoc target method. The good news is, you can build a comma-separated list of CE WAN addresses, and just paste that list into the ad hoc target interface. Once the targets are there, you can create the multiple collectors in one shot as I described above.
