Migrating to Cisco ACS

We are planning to migrate our Cisco network devices login using Cisco ACS and authenticate through TACACS and/or RADIUS. Please advise on the below details:

1. what cisco IOS version will support this (we mostly have ASA Firewall, Catalyst Switches, ISR, and the like)

2. best practice to not lose remote access to the network devices.

3. sample configuration required for the implementation.
