Monitoring Switch Power Usage with SNMP

Hello everyone,

     I have searched high and low, and yet I am still confused as to how to do this...  Is there a uniform MIB that can be interrogated, regardless of the switching platform? Or are there specific MIB's for each switch family..?

Monitoring overall power usage may depend on platform and software.  There are MIBs such as the CISCO-ENERGYWISE-MIB (if you are using EnergyWise), CISCO-ENVMON-MIB (for voltage information), and CISCO-ENTITY-FRU-CONTROL-MIB (for volatage sensor information).
