Network Assistant connect button not working on OSX

I have a problem with the Network Assistant 6.3.4 application on OSX 10.15.7. I can install and launch the application without problems, but most of the buttons don't actually do anything. As the application starts, the top bar and a login window are shown. If I enter my Cisco login credentials the window closes nothing happens. The same if I click on the connect button. Some other buttons work (for example help). I tried to run the Assistant with Java 16 and then 11, but the behavior is always the same.

Note

 To run Network Assistant on MAC OS X (10.7 Lion and above), follow these steps:
- From the System Preferences window, select Security and Privacy.
- From the Security and Privacy window, select the General tab and click Anywhere.
