Hi,
I am trying to configure the civic location on my switches with Prime Infrastructure. But either I doesn't work at all or just partially. And I get multiple location civic-location identifiers and not all of the interfaces get an entry in the interface configuration.
I tried different approaches:
1. Approach
Navigate to Configuration -> Network Devices -> click Switch Port Location in upper right corner -> select all ports -> click go next to Configure location -> select Campus, building and Floor -> click on Import Civic (The information is populated in the civic address field below -> click Save.
After a while, i hit the refresh button sometimes I get this message "The last NMSP/Location operation on the device was not successful. The NMSP/Location information may not be up-to-date." Sometimes few of the interfaces are showing Map Location information.
2. Approach
Navigate to Configuration -> Templates -> Switch Location -> Created a Template with specific civic information -> click on apply to Switch -> selecting t he appropriate Device and Ports then click apply. Same behaviour at the end as with approach 1.
3. Approach
In the cli of the switch I added a location civic-location identifier 1 -> enter the specific information -> add the identifier to the interfaces -> synched the device through device inventory.
When I go then to Inventory -> Device Details, the section under Civic Location does not show any information.
It's pretty frustrating, I am trying now for three days without success.
Any ideas how this is working?
Thanks
Alex
