In the labs/tutorials we are to save the flow to adestination ip address vile flow exporter, attach exporter to flow monitor, than attach flow monitor to an interface. If this destination IP were a laptop or PC, what type of file would the flow be exported in.?
My second question is, that within the labbing environment when I define a destination IP as a router, am I able to extract a file or data from that router about the flow. I've done a few labs so far where the information I've been able to recieve has been through show commands on the input router itself.

here is the reference for netflow format :
https://www.cisco.com/en/US/technologies/tk648/tk362/technologies_white_paper09186a00800a3db9.html
on the end device you need to have flow collector software to view that information.

depends on what platform but you can use :
#show ip flow export

Your destination should be the server that will be receiving the flows (Netscount, LogicMonitor, etc).
