Question on C9200 C9300 ports number assignments

On C9200 and C9300 switches, I have trouble understanding the copper ports number assignment. For example, on a C9300-24T-E I know where is port 1, 12, 13 and 24. The problem is, where is port #2, below port#1 or to the right of port#1?

Thanks.

Hi there,

Since time began, the top left port is number one and the directly below is port two; odds on top, even numbers on the bottom.

cheers,

Seb.

Good point, like the SG series of switches too. Ok I'll caveat my original statement and say it applies to 'enterprise' switches.

Thanks!

I had some doubts because I am using another switch on the same panel, IE-4010-4S24P, which counts the ports differently.

Cheers.

I have the same problem. Regardless of how long it has always been this way, not everyone comes from that background. Would it be so hard to show the numbering since their are two ways it could be numbered?

It took me an hour of looking through downloads, trying to contact customer support, finding out that I have to know our contract number to do that (company of over 60k employees, I know we have several but there is no way I would ever be able to find that), and clicking captcha images and fixing mistakes on my forum post just to ask a question.
