Remove Patch From Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.2

Hi,

Quick question, how do I remove the patch that already installed on Cisco PI 2.2? (see attachment)

I have tried using "patch remove word word" command but I'm confused about the string I need to input.

I want to remove critical fix patch on my PI because I installed wrong version.

Thank you

Regards,

Arie

I never needed to use "patch remove" for myself as I always use snapshots for the same task .I hope this is not one of the irreversible patches.

Before "patch remove"  i would shut it down and take a snapshot  otherwise a back up

I guess might look like this otherwise please let me know I'll try to fire up my lab and test

admin# patch remove ncs 1.8.0

Edit **Its shouldn't be the version as above upgrade guide says its the patch id

Hi,

I don't know whether the patch is irreversible or not. From Cisco PI web-GUI, it shows that installed. When I enter the command "patch remove ncs 1.8.0", it shows "% Patch is not installed". Do you think there is another method to remove that?

Thank you

I look at my prime assurance box and command was available on that too, however show version clearly indicated the patch id.

If "patch remove " command is available on prime the correct syntax would be " patch remove ncs "id"".It is in the doco here as well but the question is how do you know the patch ID or the command is effective though its there

Whats your update.. is it (pi222_Update_04-3.ubf)?

Hi,

The "patch remove" command is available on prime. But I'm confuse why I can't remove the patch.

Here is the "show version":

Version : 2.2.0
Build : 2.2.0.0.158
********************************************************

********************************************************
Installed Updates:

Prime Infrastructure 2.2 Device Pack 7 ( 7.0 )
Prime Infrastructure 2.2 Device Pack 9 ( 9.0 )

I want to remove the Critical Fixes update because I think I have installed wrong update.

Do you have any suggestion?

Thank you

I'd suggest opening a TAC case for hands-on assistance.

From the cli, first run "show version" to get the exact patch name(s).

Then run the "patch remove ncs" command followed by the patch name in quotes.

For example:

Hi Marvin,

I don't think that works either, here is what i get on my v2.2 lab and same results with two different updates.

Hi Marvin,

I have tried the command but still not successful.

I think that I have installed wrong update, so I want to remove it. Do you have any suggestion?

Thank you.

Hi,

I just opened a case TAC and the solution for this issue is redeploy the Cisco Prime because the update that I installed can't be removed or irreversible.

Thank you guys for the support :)
