Hi,
We have a number of sites using an old combination of a cisco AS2509-RJ router, a dialup modem and a APC 9211.
this combination allows us to dialin and access network devices (switches, routers, etc) should we loose our LAN connection or screw up during a config, and the APC to reboot devices.
I cant seem to find anything within the cisco family to replace the 2509.
can anyone recommend a valid replacement, or perhaps an "all in one" solution to do what we need?

Hi,
There's no exact replacement for a 2509 as the functionality is replaced by either network modules or wics/hwics.
Cheapest option is probably an 1841 with a combination of an HWIC-8A (for 8 async ports) and a WIC-1AM (for the modem). However, if you use the 2 sync serial ports in the 2509 you'll be stuck - and a 2800 might be a better choice.
Here's the link for async NM's:

and here's the link for the HWIC's:

HTH - plz rate if useful.
