RME netconfig- TFTP failed

Dear fellows,

I have this issue with carrying out RME Netconfig Jobs.

They return me following error.

"Command(s) failed on the device TFTP: Failed on the device."

I tried increasing the TFTP time out but still the problem persists.

I am able to carryout RME software management jobs to these devices success fully - meaning there is no issue with TFTP. Also I am able to do the archive management jobs on these devices.

Can anyone please assist me to solve this.

My server is Windows 2003, and I'm running RME 4.0.4, I have applied all the available device updates.

Thanks & Rgds

Ramesh

Is this an adhoc job? Also can you go the device and check, whether these cmds were

successful at the device, but reported as failure?

If possible can you change the protocol to telnet and check if it works?

Hi Davstin,

Thanks for the reply. You're correct, this ia an adhoc job.

And these commands are not successful in the device.

Could you pls tell me how to change the TFTP to telnet?

Thnx again,

Change the protocol order in under RME - Admin - Config Mgmt - Transport Settings

Select Netconfig from the drop down and make sure telnet is added as the top selected protocol

Hi Davstin,

I changed the TFTP to Telnet.

RME -> Config Mgmt -> Transport settings -> netconfig -> Config deploy -> removed evrything except for telnet. I hope that's correct.

But now I'm getting a different error.

"Deploy command partially failed Insufficient no. of interactive responses(or timeout) for command".

I'm trying this on Wireless APs. I tried changing the IOS of them. And surprisingly when the IOS is 122-15.JA it works fine.

But when I change this to something newer, (I played with with several 12.3 IOSes) it does not work.

the 122-15 IOS doesnot fit my requirement.

Because this is working on one IOS i presume there is no problem with my cisco works configuration.

Thnx again for any idea that I can try out.

I increased the telnet time out to 60, still no luck....

And It fails only for Adhoc jobs....

What commands are contained in the adhoc jobs? What device type?

What commands are you trying to push to the device? Wat type of device is this?
