If I'm trying to push an image that is too big for free flash, are there any options in RME to delete the existing image to create the needed space?

RME will detect that there is not enough space, and erase the flash. This will be presented in a warning:
SWIM1049: The selected image requires Flash to be erased during image upgrade. Check whether you have performed the necessary backup.
