I am attempting to run the archive command and get the below error when I run it. (edited to get rid of IP)
my command: archive download-sw /overwrite tftp://X.X.X.X/file/path/s5700-universalk9-tar.152-7.E.tar
archive download-sw /overwrite tftp://X.X.X.X/file/path/s5700 ^-universalk9-tar.152-7.E.tar
% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.
How come the space is being added in the file name?
current version of switch: 15.2(6)E2a

- Is this repeatable ? For instance , what happens if you logoff and on again ? Try renaming the source file to simple.tar (e.g.). Check what happens then.

When I log off or reload, it persists. I can check on changing the name of the file.

- Ok, try the simple.tar solution.
