I'm new here :) I'm a network technician/low-voltage electrician and I need to determine which machines are connected to our switch ports. Is there a Cisco tool that will provide this information? The company does not want to pay for SolarWinds :(

I know of no free tools that can do this, but this tech tip explains how to figure out what MAC address is connected to which port. From there, you can use the ARP table available in the ipNetToMediaTable to map the MAC address to IP address. Then you simply resolve this IP to a hostname in DNS.
