Hello:
I was wondering what Cisco calls this device. I have always known it as a TAD (tech access device). It is basically a modem with multiple serial ports so you can console into your devices if a WAN link fails. Any guidance appreciated.

TAD is generally known as Traffic Anomaly Detector.We have Network Access device.A network access device (NAD), such as a Cisco router, switch, wireless access point, or VPN concentrator, plays the role of authenticator between the host and a back-end AAA server.

Brad posted this question twice. I had answered the other posting of the question explaining that the functionality he descirbes is what Cisco generally calls a terminal server. Brad indicated that this is the answer that he was looking for.
